Practical Work

Rob and Susanna surveying in the patchPlease see the events page for activities on the Wetland/Woodland Patch that you can get involved in.

Woodland patch at before conservation workAlthough much of the work is being carried out for us by qualified contractors, with our role confined to managing the arrangements, we are also very much involved in making improvements to the site.

The latest in a series of practical workdays down at the patch took place in June. Our main focus this time was tackling the Japanese Knotweed, a highly invasive non-native species which needs to be removed or at least strictly controlled. We also put in stepping stones on the south side of the boardwalk, using stumps left over from the willow tree surgery. Everyone certainly deserved their post-task pancakes, courtesy of Jeff's friend Alexis!
